Hoot Course – Osprey Valley Resorts, Caledon, Ontario
Nearly a decade after opening the original Heathlands Course, construction began on two new 18 - hole championship courses at Osprey Valley Resort. As with the original course, the challenge for the 2nd phase of the project was to create two additional courses that would also have their own unique design style and playing characteristics. The Hoot Course is a very natural, low profile design, featuring vast expanses of ragged sand barrens and mature pine plantations that frame most of the holes. Several large waste bunkers meander seamlessly from fairway to green adding to its distinctive aesthetic character.
More than 1,500 trees were transplanted onto open areas of the site to enhance the natural setting for each hole. Captivating views are presented on the various tee and approach shots throughout the course, along with a diverse variety of risk & rewards options. A variety of pristine water features, including a spectacular man-made waterfall on the 17th hole, add to the challenge and beauty of the course.
