Greywolf Golf Course– Panorama Resort, British Columbia
Situated in the spectacular Purcell Mountains, at the base of one of Canada’s premier downhill ski destinations, Greywolf Golf Course features a breathtaking collection golf holes that traverse seamlessly across the dramatic mountain terrain, with over 500 feet of elevation change. Panoramic mountain views abound on every hole creating a memorable golf experience. The routing of the front nine was carefully crafted to take full advantage of the clifftop setting for the par three 6th hole, aptly named “Cliffhanger.” It was one of those exceptional natural settings that presented tremendous potential. Today, Cliffhanger is one of the most photographed and recognizable holes in Canadian golf.
Creating a premium quality resort golf course, that appeals to discriminating golfers of all abilities, requires an imaginative approach to planning and attention to detail, especially when dealing with extreme mountain terrain. Nowhere is this story more compelling than at Greywolf Golf Course, where an environmentally sensitive plan was integrated with the site’s rugged natural features to create a course of exceptional beauty. We also recommended the acquisition of additional land to maximize the potential of the routing and the development, while minimizing the disturbance to important natural features.
Greywolf Golf Course was voted the Best New Golf Course in Canada by Golf Digest in 1999.
